The LSA Practice Network

We collaborate with our growing Practice Network – over 300 London-based architectural practices and built environment organisations. This network is the school’s enabling link between academia and practice and forms a community of students, practitioners, educators and built environment professionals.

Together, we make Part 2 architectural education more accessible by providing an affordable model of design-driven academic study and work-based practice.

Practice Network members are not just observers in the programme – they connect with our students throughout their two years of study.

Members engage across the programme from graduate recruitment opportunities to academic support through student placements, design reviews, lectures and networking events.

Our Business of Practice series offers a range of talks from practice covering financial modelling, starting up and scaling a practice, HR, marketing, communication skills and much more.

Students are also encouraged to shape their own programme with practice. Suggestions are curated by alumni and responded to by practice through our Thursday Talks programme.

Our City As Campus ethos furthers the relationship between students and the Practice Network. It is based on sharing physical space and intellectual resource.

Practice Network members make workshop and meeting spaces available across the city – enabling students to engage with practice and forge relationships with prospective employers through ad-hoc design reviews and informal knowledge exchange.

After two academically enriching years deeply rooted in practice, graduates leave equipped with design excellence, the soft skills of business and a network of built-environment professionals.

The Practice Network operates through a flexible and open Practice Forum. Facilitated by the LSA, it contributes to forging strategic direction of our academic programmes, engagement with students and learners, advocates for our community, and develops programmes and initiatives for the wider benefit of professional practice.
