PART 0 WINS INSPIRE FUTURE GENERATIONS AWARD FOR FURTHER EDUCATION/HIGHER EDUCATION

The London School of Architecture’s (LSA) Part 0 campaign was recognised at this year’s Inspire Future Generations Awards on Monday, 13th January, receiving the award for Further Education/Higher Education in acknowledgment of its “excellence and impact in empowering children and young people to advocate for a better built environment.”

Part 0 was established in 2022 with the mission, set by Head of School Dr. Neal Shasore, of improving the visibility of, and access to, built environment professions. The campaign is run by Roy Coupland and Ya Ya Chen, and supported by R&Co4Generations, Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation, Foundation for Future London, Royal Institute of British Architects, London Borough of Hackney, The Marchus Trust, Latham Timber and AHMM. Part 0 has since grown to provide four programmes for 11 to 19 year olds.

In the academic year 2023-24 Part 0 courses welcomed 74 students and benefitted from the support of 128 industry experts. The campaign was able to help secure 11 work placements and supported 11 in-school careers events. Additionally, the Dalston Pavilion welcomed over 450 visitors last June across 22 workshops. Finally, it was an incredible privilege to deliver a day of creative activities for this year’s Stephen Lawrence Day, attended by over twenty young people from the LSA’s School Network.
